Deliciously Imperfect

When the phone call came, I jumped at the chance. It seemed like easy money doing something ridiculously fun. Now, five days into it, I was beginning to worry.

The call came two weeks ago from Theo. Theo runs a very popular bar on the Outer Banks. I got to know him a few years ago when he hired me to take some pictures of his extraordinary wife. I have to tell you, a 250 pound amazon is not my idea of perfection, but Theo adores her and likes the way I romanticize her in my photos. He likes my pictures so much in fact, that he brings me back every year or so for a new shoot. If you've been to his bar, you've seen my pictures - they are all over the bar.

Theo and his precious Barb are really great fun, and I love the annual visit. They laugh a lot, don't take things too seriously, and are terrifically good conversationalist. It's more like old friends when I go there, but old friends who pay well for a couple of days hard shooting.

Each year during the week after most of the colleges get out, Theo holds a "Perfect Blonde" contest. He hires five photographers to comb the beaches in search of the perfect blonde.
