The airport p.a. system was softly pumping Christmas tunes throughout the crowded terminal. Alix unbuttoned her coat as she made her way up to the monitors to check for Mark's flight.

"LA to Newark/EWI--Landing. Awesome! I just made it!." She smiled. It had been over 8 months since she had seen Mark and she missed him terribly. They were best friends, but her job unfortunatly was on one coast and his took him to the other. But true friendship was stronger than distance and they always made the promise to spend Christmas together, no matter who lived where. It was a promise made in stone.

Alix scampered up the third floor stairs with her head racing--'Will he notice my weight loss?' Will he be wearing that cologne that drives me CRAZY!' Everything was going around and around in her head when she reached the gate and saw the crowd on flight 211 head her way hugging and kissing their greeters.
