Glory Days Memories of a Missionary Part Four of Four

Its funny how days turn in to weeks, and weeks in to months, before I knew it I was six months on my mission. I was really missing Mother and Father, I had grown quite fond of Sister Parks and her husband Wayne, and they seemed to fill the void in Ike's and my life. They reminded me so much of my own parents.

I admired how they started to make Ronald a part of their family. They would have Ike and me over to dinner most Sundays after church. The bishop relived of his duties, and he and his family moved out of the ward. The Parks continued to go to church, I am sure they were never as fired up about their beliefs as they once were.

I was helping Sister Parks with the dinner dishes she surprised me.

"Cordon I want to tell you something, I am glad you came on your mission, because I got to meet you. I do not know what I would have done, if we had not had you around during this most trying time." She said to me with love.

"Well thank you Sister Parks." I said with respect.
