Amanda Harrison had an employee at Spanco Biotech for the last five years and had not gotten the promotion she believed that she deserved.

"What do you have to do to get a promotion at this place," she thought to herself as she was passed over for promotion for the third time in three years. "I think I go see that boss of mine to see what my problem is."

Amanda marched herself to Frank's office and ask him point blank, "Why was I passed over for promotion again?"

"Well, Amanda," Frank responded, "I just don't think you're ready for the increased job responsibilities."

"Bullshit, I've trained my last two bosses to do and understand my job so I think I am more than ready for the increase in job responsibilities."

"If you feel that way, I can work on getting you some training on time management and those types of things so you can keep your same level of productivity. I'll e-mail with your start date for training."

"Thanks, Frank. I'll be in my office most of the day."
