The Group Sessions - Tim's Story

During the first group session, each of the group members had introduced themselves. Then they had all sat and watched Nick's tape. When it was over, Nick was leaning over with his face buried in his hands. "Nick, I know how you feel. The obsession and the guilt are both killing you. I know it well." Alan offered. "Well put. I have my own little problem. Ed, can we do my tape next?" Tim asked. "Okay Tim."

The group stayed for half an hour and talked about what they heard and how it made them feel. When it was over, Nick really didn't feel any better. Dr. Chiles told him it will take time, but it will get better.

Nick was waiting for the elevator when his cell phone rang. "Hello?" he asked. "Nick. It's me. Are you in the elevator yet?" Serena asked. "Uh, no. How did you..." but she cut him off. "Get out on the ninth floor." And the phone went dead. Nick was now torn. Should he get out and be caught in Serna's obvious trap, or should he just go to the garage, get in his car and leave? The doors opened and he stepped in. "Now Nick, you have to start now!" he told himself. He pressed the P2 for garage level he had parked on. Tim and Alan got in the elevator too. Tim pushed P1. When the elevator stopped at P1, both Tim and Alan got out. Nick had not said a word to them about Serena's call. The doors opened at P2 and he got out. He walked to his car in the deserted garage.
