Joe Cole kissed his wife goodbye and she wished him luck as he left the house to start his first day on the job as a Field Service Engineer for a car manufacturer. His boss had just announced his promotion the previous Monday and he had used his time since then to complete his work in the office He got in his new company car and headed East to the Tidewater Area of Virginia for three days and was very excited since it had meant a big pay raise. The only drawback that he envisioned was having to stay on the road probably two nights a week. Little did he realize what lay ahead, for the man that left was never going to be the man that returned.

A little over an hour later, he pulled into the dealership's parking lot and grabbing his briefcase, he headed to the Service Manager's office. There he met Paul Bell, the dealership Service Manager. Paul was a forty six year old man and highly regarded by Joe's office. They discussed the vehicles he was to inspect that day and try to resolve the problems the owners had complained about.
