I knew it wasn't a mistake...so why did he think it was?

I didn't sleep well the night after Shane and I had given each other head. I wondered, maybe feared, what would become of our friendship. I rolled over and picked up the phone. Then set it back down. He had barely spoke to me when he left that morning. I was sure that guilt rushed through him. I sighed and closed my eyes. There would be time to deal with this later.

Later turned into weeks. Every couple of days I would reach for the phone and replace it on the receiver. I couldn't call him. I wanted him to be the one to call me. I wanted him to question if what we had done was ok.

A month went by and I couldn't handle it any longer. I picked up the phone and dialed his number. There was no answer and my mind raced to thinking that he knew it was me and just didn't want to answer. "Shane, this is me. I just called to..." My mind raced. What was I going to say? WHY had I even called?! "I just called to say hi. I wanted to see how you were. And...well...dude...I'm totally ok with it...ya know...what happen...call me please. Shane...I miss you man." I sighed then whispered into the phone, "I love you too bro."
