A First Time For Dennis

At every school it seems that there is always one shy kid in the class who just doesn't seem to fit in with the crowd. Often that child would be smaller than the others, or younger or perhaps new to the neighbourhood. In my freshman year in college, that guy was Dennis. Short and slight, with freckles and oversized glasses, Dennis could easily be mistaken for a high school sophmore.

Dennis was pretty good at blending into the background. I don't think he said more than three words the entire first semester, so I was surprised to see him at Jason's birthday party when I showed up with my friend Marie. The music blared and couples danced beneath strings of cheap ornamental garden lights which hung helter skelter above the backyard patio. I found myself standing next to Dennis near a table of snacks and began to chat with him. Nothing special, just how's it going, how are your courses, that kind of thing. A few minutes later, one of the guys from the football team asked me to dance. Tall, strong and drop dead gorgeous, of course I would. We linked our fingers together and moved to the middle of the impromtu dance floor. A slow song came on. Perfect. We wrapped our arms around each other and swayed to the music. As I laid my head against his broad shoulder, I felt his hands slide slowly down my back, lower, until they rested comfortably around my ass. I didn't stop him.
