I felt dreadful. The day had started off bad and just got worse as the hours passed by. Have you ever had one of those days, you know when no matter how hard you try to get things on the up and up they always seem to end up on the down and out. That's been my day today.

I was in a maze when I walked to the bus stop only to find it had been cancelled and had to take the underground to get back to my solitary flat. I was close to tears I can tell you and it wouldn't take much to tip me over into a blubbery mess.

I got on the train, sat down in a lonesome carriage, put my head in my hands and started to well up from all the strain of the day. I heard someone get on at the next stop and casually looked up to see a rather attractive short haired brunette park her rear on a seat nearly opposite me. ...
