The Homecoming

Bill's airplane touches down at precisely 9:43 a.m. Christine is anxiously awaiting his departure from the aircraft. She has let the kids go to school today so that they could surprise them by having their daddy pick them up. She watches as the people exit the plane, looking at all the men in their desert uniforms. Suddenly she sees his face in the crowd. It doesn't look quite the same as when he left, somehow more beautiful, probably all the time apart.

He walks over to the terminal and steps through the door, and she is there to greet him. They look at each other and smile. Then they step in and kiss each other.
