The cargo transport was six weeks overdue. It had taken four weeks to determine where it had disappeared, and then two weeks for the two person team to reach the planet. Attempts had been made to contact the cargo ship without success. The system where they had disappeared was mostly unknown. It was known that there was one planet that appeared to be able to support life. Distant scans from probes had shown much plant life, but the type and quantity of animal life was unknown.

That was the extent of the briefing for the crew of the rescue vessel Artemous. There was a possibility of survivors, but it was considered only a 50% probability. The two week journey had been uneventful for Leah Daniels and Liam Sionnach.
