"Sarah, Mr West needs to see you before you leave today" came the crotchety voice of Mr West's PA, Andrea over the phone.

"Sure, Andrea. I'll come up now" I said, trying to sound keen. Hmmm, what had I done now? I racked my brains as I walked slowly up to the executive offices. I really couldn't think what I might have done wrong, I'd been so careful since the last telling off I'd had for mis-calculating some important sales figures. Before entering the office, I took a deep breath, smoothed down my skirt and tried to show an air of confidence as I walked in.

"Ah, Sarah! Sit down dear." Mr West seemed quite cheerful, maybe I hadn't done anything wrong after all and I was going to get a promotion! Yeah right!. "Do you have anything planned for this weekend, Sarah?" He must have seen the look of horror on my face as he quickly added "Its nothing bad, my dear. I'm having a party tomorrow night, lots of stuffy executive types and the like. Its all about networking in this business" I nodded nervously. "The thing is, my son is home from University at the moment, and I know he will be dreadfully bored. His old friends don't seem interested any more, so I wondered if you would be interested in popping along to keep him company?"

What could I say? I didn't have anything planned, but spending Saturday evening with my boss's son at a party full of boring old suits didn't ...
