Dreaming

I stood at my backdoor and looked into the clear blue sky. Apart from the odd bird here and there it was only spoilt by the fluffy vapour trails left by the silver aircraft taking their precious cargo to and from all manners of exotic locations.

I often stand here and wonder who they are and why they are on that particular plane going wherever, wishing it was me sitting in the plane looking down on the miniature scene below.

It's been such a long time since I've been away on a truly restful holiday. It seems like a lifetime ago when I was last sitting on a lazy chair with warm waters lapping at my shins and sipping on a local cocktail.

Those were the days before our children came along and took away all my youth, innocence and looks. After two offspring my body now shows the tell tale signs of motherhood.

I do try to look after myself as and when I can but it's not easy. It's a constant battle juggling the children's needs with that of my husbands and my own needs. In the end it's always the rest of the family that win out and I constantly take a back seat on life and what it brings. ...
