My dismal attempt to end my relationship with Amanda just three months into the affair would be my last. I saw her at least bi-weekly over the next eight months, always in secret, and never staying the night - much to her disappointment. Though I was relatively satisfied with the arrangement, I knew that it could not last, especially when seeing her in the hallway each day only reminded me of my situation.

Each year a staff-party was held by the principal of the school where we both teach. It was a big event, and he really knew how to throw a party. We were laying in bed together, Amanda with her back against her backboard and my back to her, between her legs with my head resting on either of her shoulders. We were chatting casually as she ran her hands along my body. As suspected, she brought up the staff-party.
