Donna was a lot of things. She was a good cook, a loving wife, an above average painter. She was not, though, a good liar. It had only been a week since Jesse had come over and...that...had happened, and the weight of it had not gotten any lighter. Every time she saw Billy, every time he mentioned Jesse's name, when they were in bed together (and Billy had always been a good lay, maybe a little too gentle at times, but he more than knew what he was doing), all she could think about was what a betraying whore she had been. There was no other way to put it, she had never thought of herself as anything but. She couldn't even walk to the front door without seeing herself against it, ripping down her underwear, anxious to let another man take what had belonged to her husband.

And it was showing. Billy knew something was the matter though, bless his heart, he wasn't saying much about it. He was content to try and cater to her, take up the slack in their relationship, which only made her feel worse. If Billy only knew what she'd done, but he couldn't. He never would.
