Harassing the Neighbors

Lyle grumbled and pulled a pillow over his head to stifle the moans coming from the apartment above him. They'd been at it since he'd gone to bed, and it had ceased to be amusing. He finally gave up and got up early, milling around and keeping himself busy before he had to go to work.

All things considered, he had a relatively uneventful day. The excitement of the coming evening had kept him from being bothered by the tedium and bureaucracy of the Army. He left almost too early to go to the airport. He didn't want her to have to wait so late at night.

Morgan's plane trip had been exhausting. She had spent two hours waiting in Houston for a connecting flight, with the stench of airport food and Texas in her nose. On the next part of her journey, she had sat next to a rather friendly man, but when he fell asleep he snored horribly. She now sat on a bench watching traffic and waiting for him to come pick her up. She watched eagerly for his car. Her plane had landed early, so she had a while to wait. She had started to doze off when a voice started her.

"Going my way?" She jumped and half-rose, nearly ready to kill whoever had caught her off guard. But of course it was him, and she felt foolish. He put a hand in hers and lifted her from the bench, and ...
