Not That Way by Chet O!

You have probably been in the situation where the information for something like a direction or name was given to you incorrectly by accident or deliberately wrong as a poor joke, haven't you? This story is based on that very thing, I think. Ha! Sorry about that, but I do not always know what my writing is going to come up with. Oh well, let's see -

Britel stood aside as the team rushed past him as he stood in the tunnel under the huge new stadium. This was for the big one - state finals. He was not sure why he came. He didn't like sports and never took part in them unless forced to it by the school's requirements. Even then, everyone knew not to bother throwing the ball to him, etc.

Ann was somewhere in the stands, hidden by the huge crowd. It had been her idea for him to be here to make a good impression on the new coach. The coach was a member of the qualifying committee for scholarships and the other financial items for the better colleges, etc. Britel has to have one or he doesn't go! It is quite likely that nothing but this game is on the coach's mind and also very likely, that he will never remember any particular person being here. Boy, if this isn't one of the most stupid ideas he has ever gone along with.
