Standing in front of my studio, I shouldn't be thinking that Karenna is disinterested in continuing our relationship. ‘What can I do to find the true answer?' I wondered as I looked down the little dirt road to the main highway. Perhaps like she said on the phone, she might be by, but this early in the day she may still be sleeping. That's enough fresh air, ‘Keep busy - keep your mind busy, especially,' I thought.

I went inside and began struggling, unscrambling the mess of materials in the spare room. I am supposed to make this pile of junk into kits of materials and small sized canvases for my art students. Each summer, after regular school is finished, I open a part of my studio to ‘The Little Monsters' as Karenna calls them. She tried to assist me a little last year. It can be interesting, teaching youngsters.

"This year will be different," she said. "Now, I know what you are trying to do. This last year was a mystery to me. Can we do still life? I have done a little of that on my own. But now, I have all my own materials." That was the very short one-sided conversation that took place in town a few days ago.
