For the next day and a half Roger avoided his father and kept to himself until his restlessness was such that reading law books or Shakespeare wasn't enough. Roger finally rode over to seek solace with Nora. As usual he was ushered into the drawing room and Nora greeted him with a dazzling smile and a warm embrace. When they finally sat on the blue velvet divan he brought her up to date on the upcoming duel that his father had to attend on Saturday morning with Edward Devereau.
