"Have you two sorted out any plans for a holiday this year?" Greg looked at us, as he thrust a fork full of spaghetti into his mouth. We were spending the evening together in a small Italian we frequented from time to time.

I saw Tom look at me and shake his head. "No, we've had a look at one or two ideas but we have not decided on anything yet. Why do you ask?"

"Well," Greg went on, "we were wondering if you would like to join up with us."

I looked at him, surprised. "Do you mean on the Turkish holiday?" He nodded.

We knew about the Turkish holiday. It had been planned for a while. They were flying out to Turkey and picking up a boat which they were to spend a couple of weeks on cruising around the Adriatic. They were supposed to be going with one of Greg's work partners, but Greg went on to tell us that there had been some medical problems and now the other couple could not go.
