Diane was a married 34 year old woman. Her 2 children were now in school and she had finally reentered the work force.her husband Tom had encouraged her to return to school and she had earned a degree in Social Studies. Diane had taken a job at a local half way house, Robinson House. The home was a place where newly released inmates from the state prison were moved on an early release program. They were all non violent offenders and the home was designed as a way to deal with overcrowding at the prison.

Dianes job was to meet with the men everyday to assist them with job training, resumes, ensuring the house rules were obeyed and generally just assisting them with readjusting to society. At any given time there were between 1 and 4 men staying at the home at various stages of progress. Some were working and saving for their own apartment, others had been newly released and were just getting started in the program.

Diane found it to be a rewarding job, she felt she was at the very least contributing to society by helping these men make a life for themselves and get off the hamster wheel of going to and from prison all their lives.

Her life at home was good as well. Her husband was a respectable man who treated her well. Her children were well behaved at did well at school. Diane and Tom were conservative and attended the local church. On the outside things were perfect....but she always felt there was something ...
