Foster Mother's surprise.

To say things had been strained since my foster dad left was an understatement, my foster mum Laura just hadn't been her chirpy fun loving self, only two years earlier my foster dad had come in and announced that he was moving in with a girl from the office.

There was no discussion, no argument, my dad just packed his bags and left, leaving my mum sitting on the chair deep in shock.

For the first three months my mum didn't even want to leave the house, getting her to work was a nightmare, we had to live, I was finishing my exams at school and knew enough to realise that if she didn't work, the bank would repossess the house she had worked so hard to make a home.

The first Christmas was hard on her, she had spent quite a bit of money on Christmas presents, the problem was Christmas had been the same every year since I moved there at the age of ten, presents in the morning, Christmas dinner about 2pm, I would set the table and dad would help mum with the cooking, then watch the queens speech before I headed out and left my mum and dad to it.

By 7pm, I was usually back just as they had finished giving each other ...
