I remember like it was yesterday, which it was not! A senior in high school and I had somehow gotten roped into helping out at a band fund raiser. While I was in the high school band, everyone knew that I was one those who could never classify as a "band geek." I also played several different instruments.

I was standing at the stand selling assorted baked goods as well as some items emblaozoned with the high school name on them like coffee mugs and t-shrits when a young man entered. He was about 5 feet 11 inches, with dirty blond hair amd ice blue eyes. Not really built, but not too skinny, either. He came right over to the woman next to me, who happened to be my friend's mom, and kissed her on the cheek.

"Hi mom."

I couldn't stop staring. This was the mysterious older brother of my friend, Julie. She used to tell me that he even though he was already a junior in college, he lived at home as his univeristy was only a half hour away. She also joked that her brother was cute. I silently agreed. he wasn't bad-looking.
