I returned from the first gulf war in 1991 after being injured by a mortar fire attack. I had become paralyzed from the waist down at the early age of 26.

I returned home to my wife Sadie and our son Derek and was in a deep depression. I felt like half a man...unable to do much of anything and unable to satisfy my wifes needs as a woman.

Our son passed away in an accident about a year after I had returned and this made life even more unbearable. Sadie had become depressed as well and the fact that I was unable to be intimate with her made things worse.

She started to come home late in the evenings a few times a week. I knew in my heart what she was doing but I could not bring myself to question her as I was unable to satisfy her needs.

This went on for about a year. She would discreetly pack a bag of clothes and then say she was going over to a friends, or going shopping and she would leave for hours on end. A few times returning in a different outfit than what she had left in and the smell of booze on her breath. ...
