Davidson Mitchell was a very patient man. He had to be to get what he wanted in life. His mother grew up in Bedsty.-New York, moved when she was in college. She was the first woman in her long history of family to even go to college, let alone graduate High School. She was mulatto herself. Of couse no one uses that term this day but they made sure she knew she was not all black as a child.

She was a Nurse until she passed away when she was 56 years old. She had married Davidson's father when she was 26 years old. A very dark skin true African man. His family disowned him for marrying an "American mulatto".

He never contacted his family, ever. His lovely wife and two boys were his only family. Davidson was the oldest. His father was very hard on him, always telling him "people will judge you because of your color, so reach higher, act better than them."
