After the Show

It was time for Spring Vacation. Laurie had persuaded me to take the family to Las Vegas for 5 days. My sister and her husband would be there with several other friends. We had rooms on separate floors and the kids were old enough to be left on their own for a couple of hours at a time. We spent the first day looking at the grand hotel/casino resorts. They were spectacular; there was an energy there that was tangible. And of course, everywhere you turned there was a "What Happens in Vegas...Stays in Vegas" billboard.

After walking the strip, we all cooled off in the pool. Laurie wore a bikini with a sarong wrap - cute enough to garner lots of glances, but not too sexy (we had the kids with us.) After going up to shower, we had dinner with my sister, her husband and some of her other friends - including Bobby and Connie. We had not seen them since running into them at Pop's, the blues/jazz bar near our home. Dinner was nice - we saw some friends that we hadn't seen in years - and while not getting too close to Bobby and Connie, we were able to make arrangements for them to come over to our hotel after the David Copperfield show we were seeing after dinner.

The show was great - he is an amazing performer. We got a cab back to our hotel, said good night to Jon and Rachel in the lobby and went up to our room. There was a 2-drink minimum at the show. Laurie was ...
