Acting the Part

There are two incontravertable truths about college theatre, especially here at _________ college: a lot of guys are gay and all the girls are gorgeous. Nothing against homosexuality, i'm making no value judgements, it's just a little funny to see the theatre stereotype played out so accurately. So there's me, a theatre/econ major surrounded by all these wonderful creatures. And let me tell you, theatre folk know how to party. By that of course I mean they are some of the most adept people on campus at getting totally wasted and then dragging themselves to class the next day.

I think it was my second major (econ) that really kept me from getting too into the party/girl scene my first semester, well, really for my first whole year. I was busy trying to keep up with classes for theatre, classes for economics, and also taking care of all my General Education requirements (one of the cons of a liberal arts college).

It wasn't until I tried cramming five, full-credit classes into my schedule that things changed. It was second semester of my sophomore year and I made it about two weeks, right up until the first wave of assignments and projects were due. 3 Cs a B- and one professor who wouldn't give me a grade but told me to write the paper over and get it back to her. That's when I dropped my econ major, threw two classes out the window, and signed on to do lighting for the school's Spring ...
