These were the last words Jessica heard before her parents left. She sighed in relief glad to have them out of her hair for once. She lay on her bed idly flipping channels and finding nothing on. She looked around her room and saw the dress as well as the cap and gown she had worn a few days before at high school graduation. Behind it hung the black evening gown she had worn to prom. She was bored.

Just then, a knock sounded on the door.

The door opened and in walked her oldest and best friend,Oliver. Their parents had been friends and then neighbors for years, and he was as welcome in her home as she was in theirs. Of course, since Ollie had been born in the morning and she had been born late at night, he told her he was older and therefore, smarter than she was.
