THE SHY MAN

Did you ever know a guy who was so shy that if he was walking down the street and saw an acquaintance approaching, he would cross the street rather than run the risk of having to carry on a conversation? If so, then you probably can understand the agonies that beset Zachary Taylor every day of his life.

He had been painfully shy for as long as he could remember. So far as he knew, he had never had a true friend, even though he had always longed for one.
