Phil watched as Rachel entered her office's building thinking how good she looked and how lucky he was to have her and hoping she could manage what he'd asked of her. He wanted her to keep on as friendly terms with Amanda as possible while he thought out how to get even with her and maybe even bring her down a peg or two and as she disappeared inside the building he drove off. Unseen to Phil, Rachel went straight to her desk, sat down and logging on to her computer saw that awaiting her was a message from Amanda. Reluctantly she opened it.

"Rachel, I think I owe you an apology for how I behaved the last time we met. It was stupid of me and I was wondering if we could meet as usual at lunch time. I'll pay. Call it recompense for my actions". Rachel read it and re-read it before replying.

"I'm sorry too. I should have handled it better; maybe I was a little hasty. I'll see you as usual in the pub".

With a shaking hand she positioned the cursor over the send button and pressed the mouse to send the message and then waited an hour before she picked up the phone on her desk and dialled a number.

"Hello", a voice on the other end said.

"It's me, Rachel".
