David Stephenson, sales manager, 36, tall, dark, pretty good looking, and lusted after by every female in the building. He charmed every single one of them, from the 60 year old cleaner to the 19 year old receptionist. Women melted at his every word, and he knew it. But we all knew it was strictly "look but don't touch", as he had a pretty, glamorous wife that he dragged out to the occasional company party.... Until one day last summer.

David ran a tight office. He had strict deadlines to meet most of the time, and we were under pressure to meet demands. He was not a person to be crossed, and you certainly knew it if your work was late or not up to standard. I'd seen several people reduced to tears by him.

I was worried. David rarely called anyone into his office, and it was usually for a dressing down. I couldn't think of anything I hadn't done, and I was sure I was up to date with everything. I got up with a sigh.
