Sam Clipper watched as the stranger entered his office. True to his previous description, Goldstein had on shades and sported a beard that completely covered the bottom part of his face. Johnny Talman was sitting over to one side of the desk, coolly observing the man who claimed to have information important to him.

Sam attempted to be cordial. "Would you have a seat please, Mister Goldstein?"

The man nodded and sat in front of the surprisingly unassuming modern metallic desk. "So Mister Goldstein, what information can you possibly have that is worth twenty thousand dollars to my client?"

Bart's voice was very low as if he were afraid to speak in front of the two men. "Margaret Thayer."

Talman sat straight up because he immediately recognized the name. It wasn't often he had to fork over fifty thousand dollars for a bimbo. "How do you know about her?"

The sun glasses hid the stranger's eyes but Talman had the distinct impression that he was being observed. His ebony skin began to crawl ever so slightly. He didn't trust this guy and yet he knew about Thayer ...
