Alex's adventures- part 3

The morning air was crisp as Alex walked out her front door, but the rays of the sun stretching over the horizon promised a warm day. As she packed her swimsuit into the trunk of James's car, she reminisced over previous night. They had spent a few hours together by his pool before his parent got home and she was forced back into the role of babysitter.

Whilst basking in the ethereal glow of the moonlight that glimmered on the surface of the pool, Alex had proposed that they take a trip to a small strip of beach around the other side of the lake. It was secluded and was not often populated. This was because there was a sand bank about 300 meters offshore that limited the boating access to the waters, and there was a significant trek by land to get there.

She had told her parents that James was going for a swim to the lake today, and that he had asked if she wanted to go. Her parents asked a few of the standard questions: "when will you be back?", "where exactly are you going?", and finally "does he drive safely?". After vaguely describing the general vicinity of where they were going and assuring them that nothing untoward would be occurring, they grudgingly agreed to let her go.
