You know it's kind of funny how life can be so different. I never really noticed how things can suddenly change for the worse or the better. Life kind of threw me a curve ball, but it was nothing bad. I've always been a bit different, nothing major but just minor things. I've always been 5'4" but back in high school I weighed 99 lbs the whole time. I could never get a date; guys didn't even look at me. It just seemed like the guys wanted someone who had make up caked on her face than me.

I was pretty quiet, I spoke to people but I wasn't a part of any one group, I was more or a loner. It was impossible for me to stand out in a crowd but I was happy with that. I graduated from high school and went to where no one knew me, the military. I began to notice a few of my difference from the other people around me, it had nothing to do with me being virgin at 19 or only having kissed a boy for the first time a year before. I was someone who they admired for one reason or another. I was the smart one, and I liked making everyone laugh. People gravitated towards me and I realized I did not have to try so hard any more and I understood a few things at that point.
