Lucy watched as her brother, Ken, got out of his car with some other boy. A really hot boy. "Mom!" she yelled, dashing into the kitchen, where her mother was peeling potatoes. "He's home!" Her mother threw on a huge smile and followed Lucy out to the hallway, just in time for Ken to ring the doorbell. "He never uses his stupid key," Lucy bitched. Their mom opened the door and hugged her oldest child, returning from college for the first time. Last summer he had an internship at some big company in New York, the year before that he stayed on campus for something or other. They had seen him on holiday weekends, but that was it. Even Lucy was excited to see her big brother, but even more now, considering he brought home some hottie.

"Mom, Luce, this is Eric. He's my roommate, I told you about him." Their mom nodded and gave him a hug as well, welcoming him, and telling him that she had set up another bed in Ken's room. Ken had mentioned that Eric's family was going through some "issues" and didn't want to return home just yet, so could he stay here for the summer? At first, Lucy was furious about it, she wanted to see her big brother, considering they hadn't any time to discuss what college was like, something that she really wanted to do, considering she would be attending the local college in the fall. However, now that she saw Eric, she had no problem with it.
