Poker Time

My girlfriend Sue and I have birthdays less than a week apart. We had just turned 18 and were both attending our freshman year at college. She had joined a sorority and was rooming with two other girls, Mary and Katie. Her roommates had planned a surprise party for the two of us in her room at the sorority house without our knowledge. They had arranged for us to show up one Saturday afternoon just before the end of a vacation break when no other students were occupying the sorority house.

When we walked in there was much fanfare, streamers decorated the room and we were very surprised and flattered with the attention. There was a couple of bottles of champagne and a few snacks with much beer to follow. We were feeling no pain when Mary spoke the fatal words.

"Let's play strip poker!!"

The room grew silent as we all looked at each other for some indication of whether or not the suggestion was feasible or not. Everybody kind of shrugged their shoulders in consent as if to say "why not?"

"If we do," Katie said, "we'll have to set some ground rules."
