Beyond my wildest Dreams.

I guess growing up as a kid, I was pretty idealistic when it came to the thought of relationships. I had watched my parents like two love sick kids. In our house it was a democracy where everyone's feelings were taken into account. I had hardly seen them argue about anything, and everything was settled through discussion and common ground.

By the age of 13, my mum and dad sat me down and told me their version of the facts of life. Sitting there almost stunned, I listened as my mum explained that because she loved my dad so much, at times she would do things that maybe she wouldn't want to do, and yet when she told my dad that she wanted him to do it, my dad knew that my mum was only doing it for his benefit and would refuse. Needless to say, my mum always got her way in the end.

Yet the most harrowing thing about them was, as lovers they just couldn't keep the noise down. Heading to my bed shortly after ten then pretending to be asleep, my dad would come in to turn off the light and switch off my television.

Listening to the keys rattle in the front door, it wouldn't take very long before I heard small moans coming from my mum and dad.
