A New Beginning

Chapter One

An icy northeastern storm, a speeding car and suddenly the world came to an end for one young girl as her parents lay dying on the side of the road. The perfect life she had lived over. Now an orphan it was up to family friends to take her in hand and lead her back to life and love once again.

Rona was just shy of eighteen when her parents were taken away one rain slick spring night on a Chicago highway. Within a day her mother's best friend Kayla had arrived. Kayla and the attorneys told Rona where to sign, what to do and how her life would be from now on since she was now an orphan.

Devastated she agreed to everything her new guardian, Kayla Winters wanted. They sold the lakefront apartment, packed up her things and one or two personal mementos of the family and she moved to Wyoming to finish her senior year and to start her life over again.
