San Diego Affair

The drive down to San Diego was unremarkable. Traffic was light for a typical Sunday afternoon and the scenery was pleasant, although if given a chance, I would prefer staying home watching the Lakers. Much to the contrary of what was to come in the following two days, the SD trip did not start with any drama at all. It was just a typical business trip for a technical seminar that promised to be exciting and fun theoretically but boring and dry in reality.

Like a couple of times in the past, I needed to register with the hotel the night before the seminar. This time however, the hotel played host to two different events. One was mine; a technical seminar about the computer industry; the other, was a convention for an HMO. As I waited in line for registration I couldn't help noticing a lady standing at the HMO line. She wore a black business suit and a nicely tailored skirt, matched by a pair of black hose and black pumps. Her back was facing me so I could not see her face. Yet she carried a sense of intimacy to me. While talking to another lady, she tilted her head to one side, spilling her shining long black hair completely over to her left. She then shifted her weight to her left and stretched her right leg, pivoting the heel and raising the foot slightly. Now where had I seen that before?
