A Close Medical Call for Kath This is NOT an erotic posting, but an explanation for Kath's sudden disappearance from the board. It is posted for the information for those of you who have sent her queries via ES Mail the last several days.

I feared for several anxious days that we were losing her. In the end, all is turning out well. In sequence, this is how the close call developed:

We spent a very good weekend with friends in Pennsylvania, about which I am sure she will be writing in due course. During the drive home on Sunday afternoon, she complained of a slight tummy ache. We put it down to something she ate that did not agree with her and did not worry.

Before dawn on Tuesdday, she woke up with severe abdominal pains. She vomited a couple of times, she could not fight off the nausea. I took her to the ER as a precaution. She protested that "it's just stomach flu, let's don't get worked up." She does have a high pain threshold, but this time something seemed badly out of whack.

It was. The young doctor in the ER felt her tummy and said within a matter of seconds, "This girl has appendicitis, and we better so something quickly." They immediately prepped her for surgery, and off she went.
