She would have been an Olympian, but an injury changed that. Three years ago Kim Jordan was one of the top gymnasts in the country. Her body was a finely tuned machine, able to twist and turn in ways that would make the other gymnasts gasp as they watched her. Her coaches were priming her for the next Olympics.

Then it happened. She was performing on the balance beam. Her dismount was an original manuver that no one else had ever attemped. She leapt into the air, and landed just an itsy bitsy off balance. She heard the loud pop, fell to the mat and screamed in agony. Her ACL had been badly injured. The doctors were able to surgically repair her knee, but her Olympic dreams were shattered.

Kim accepted her fate and went on to college. She assisted the gymnastics coach with the college team and worked at a gymnastics school.

It was the end of her junior year and she and two friends decided to take a little vacation. They chose a beach resort. On the second day, they were relaxing on the beach when a someone appoacked them.
