Ellen's coming.

We had known for a while now that my wife's sister's marriage was in trouble. So when Mattie told me that she'd just gotten off the phone with her sister Ellen, who had told her that it was over, I honestly wasn't surprised.

I really liked Mattie's family of course, loved them dearly in fact. Having guests obviously curtailed some of those wilder moments, but it was usually a short temporary thing. Now, with the knowledge that her sister would actually be coming here to live with us for a time, it meant giving up a few of those spontaneous naughty adventures we so enjoyed experiencing together.
