The heat from the Egyptian sun is a palpable thing. It exists just as surely as the shifting sands that Doc Wilson and his new wife were digging through. Sweat practically ran off their faces even after many swigs from the canteen that each wore on their thick, leather utility belts.

Candy was picking up the more colorful British idioms quite quickly from Professor Mangor. The crusty, yet almost well mannered Englishman somehow kept everyone both relaxed and energetic in the dry, dusty digs. He kept telling them stories of tells, tombs and treasure as he watched over the project which stretched for fifty yards along the wahdi. For weeks they had been digging and sifting, scraping and grumbling but precious little was found of any historic value.
