DeAnna stared out of the jetliner window at the solid bank of clouds below her and her fellow business class passengers; an empty wine glass sat on her service tray next to her laptop computer. She had plenty of business projects that required her attention, but her mind was muddled and restless; too much so to sleep on the plane, at least for the moment.

Gregg had brought her back to the airport that morning. The drive was silent, interrupted only by DeAnna's breathing as she slept in the passenger seat of the SUV. He got her to curb-side check-in; they kissed briefly but embraced for a long time.
