Mile High Love Story

Kris entered the terminal wondering what the day would bring. This was the first official day of the new airline that was created when her airline, Caldwell International Air bought out a slightly smaller airline, Kings Airline about two years before, which created the second largest airline in the nation. It had taken those two years to get everything worked out but now the merger was completed and while this made the airline much stronger, it came at a price. Her husband was one of the casualties as he was one of the first pilots that was let go, as the merger had caused an over abundance of pilots. Since then, for whatever reason, her husband blamed her for being let go. He seemed to believe that he, as a man, should have been kept and she, as a woman, be laid off. It didn't matter that she was a better and more qualified pilot than he was. Their marriage had for the most part ended on that day and now there was just mistrust on his part. He called her constantly and it was always to complain because he was reduced to flying a charter plane at much less money and prestige. Kris wondered just what she was going to do about her marriage and also think about just how lonely that she had become.
