The Christmas Gift.

Joining my local Karate club at the age of 15, like most, new to the demands that Karate has on the body, I guess I found it hard to adapt to the class straight away.

Ironically, within a couple of weeks, my instructor had teamed me up with a mentor. Little did I realise that my mentor and I would end up being best friends and we would end up dating for nearly two years.

This is how it all began.....

As a kid, I have to admit that Karate was going to be the hardest thing I would do in my life, the plain truth was, I wasn't very supple, and didn't really understand what sort of pain I would suffer trying to get that flexibility.

After a couple of Karate classes, it was obvious to my instructor that I needed someone to help me, and as it was club policy that every student who wanted to go for their black belt had to mentor a new start, Callum finally picked me a mentor.

Admitted, at first when I was told by Callum that Nicola would be mentoring me, I wasn't exactly impressed. I had only attended three classes and had already worked out that Nicola was a bit of a tom boy. ...
