Fresh Off The Bus 3: Chapter 3

Today was the best day in Lara Sadler's life. It had started off bad, she and the other aspiring models had interviews at E&I Modeling. She had been forced to wear a tiny white bikini in front of the leering eyes of four black men and then she had let Latrell take pictures of her in swimwear, lingerie, and even topless to see how she looked on camera.

Yes the day had started out bad, but what made it better was that she had spent the rest of it with Ann Dutton. The two girls had been inseparable as Ann showed the young women around the city. Lara and Ann had been rivals for the Miss Teen Idaho pageant, but Lara had always admired Ann deeply. Lara was the reigning Miss Teen Idaho because Ann had been impeached. She was relieved that Ann apparently didn't hold a grudge.

Lara had also become aware of something else. When she had arrived in New York on the bus, the breath had caught in her throat when she saw how elegant Ann looked greeting the girls. Their benefactor, Solomon King, had taken them out to dinner and Lara had listened raptly to Ann ...
