Chapter 3

Tom's eyes opened wide, and I could see his throat move as he swallowed. "Sure," he said quickly. "Want a refill on your drink before we start?"

I nodded and handed him my glass, almost empty now, and watched him walk briskly down the hall to the kitchen. Alone in the bedroom, I wondered if I knew what I was doing. I hardly seemed in control of what I was saying, what I was doing. I caught sight of myself in the full-length mirror on one wall and my mouth fell open; was this really Jenny Fountain, standing here in her dressy high heels, dark stockings, and not a damned thing else? Well, except the garter belt, which framed the dark thatch between my legs.

I moved my shoulders back and sucked in my tummy, regarding my image critically.
