In my new position as Loss Manager Responsible for Public Relations for a Major Personal Lines carrier it had become necessary to visit our three newly acquired satellite offices and bring them up to speed with how we wanted the policyholders, they who pay our wages, treated. It was well known throughout our office that the there was disrespect and poor treatment of claimants in each of the three. That had to stop, and soon.

I called our Human Resources Office and advised them that I wanted to hire a Private Assistant, at least for the time I was on the road and possibly longer. Sandy Dixon our HR Manager said that she had been called by the Senior VP to give her a heads up on the topic. She had selected a few likely candidates from her and other Departments whom she felt could be best assessed by myself through the interview process.

"Sandy, can you get those files to me this afternoon please?"

"Certainly Jim, I'll have Beth bring them to you immediately"

A few minutes later a knock on the office door. "Come in". The door opened and Beth came in carrying a bundle of file folders. "Good afternoon Mr Hansen, Sandy asked me to bring these over."
