Justin looked over at Alan whose face was creased by a sacreligious grin. The upper classman was indeed debonair, well dressed and even better mannered than most. Although Alan was the son of a prominent merchant, he sounded and acted like a member of the upper class rather than someone who was just a member of an "in trade" family.

Justin's retort was accented with a very rye smile. "I was beginning to wonder if I'd ever be acceptable in this decadent, den of thieves."

Alan scoffed, enjoying the sarcastic wit of his younger friend. "Touché my fine feathered friend. However, you realize that you must pass a few essential tests first before you are permitted to join our little band of brothers."
